Kenneth Mallen, the Commissioner of the Beekman Fire Department, remembered being the chief when Scoralick, who lived in Poughquag, was a volunteer firefighter; he remembered Socralick’s conscientiousness and eagerness to help. Mary Lou DeForest, the town clerk who held office when Scoralick was on the planning board, also remembered that he was always willing to help out others, according to TCNews.
The station also reported that Adrian Anderson, the current sheriff, spoke of how Scoralick made improvements that are still important, including improving the department’s marina and dive team, and bringing dogs into the department.
